The Big Move

I am finally out of an apartment and in to a wonderful 2 bedroom farm house. Our landlords, Lynette and Shane, who also live on the property let me move in a few days early than our lease originally stated. Spencer and I spent Monday and Tuesday of this week moving in smaller boxes and unpacking the kitchen and bathroom. On Wednesday the McCombies, family friends of ours, brought along 5 of their kids and a giant trailer to help us move the big things! Spencer and I were so excited to see the large trailer pull up Wednesday night! We were able to move all of the furniture out of Spencer's place, minus his bed and a few odds and ends, and my dining room table and bookcase from my old apartment in one trip! When we all pulled up to the new house Lynette, Shane and a few of their boys helped us move everything from the trailer to the house. It was a bit muddy, and Spencer was sad about the dirty floor after spending an hour cleaning it the day before, but everything was moved in in about 30 minutes!

After everyone left, Spencer and I stood staring at the living room full of boxes and furniture randomly placed. Thus, the unpacking began :) We were a little weary in the beginning about everything fitting because the house only has one closest, the coat closest by the front door. But there are quite a few cupboards in the laundry room that help with storage. After two nights, we seem to have found a place for everything. The trickiest thing was finding a place for the necessary junk drawer. There are only two drawers in the house and they are full with my spices and silverware. Luckily, Spencer knowing my love for little organization boxes, surprised me with little totes that fit all of the junk drawer items perfectly in the laundry room :)
